An impeccable display of our space program like none other that we've seen before.
Reaching high into the heavens from the grounds we wandered around NASA rockets.
We sat inside the coziest of space "pods", where the space was tiny enough to be inside for long enough to take a picture, let alone to travel to space in!
Stephanie & Sarah found Earth from the comfort of an intergalactic planet!
NASA's symbol, the "NASA Meatball" & a 209 ft. tall and 110 ft. wide American Flag was painted on the side of one of the world's largest buildings!
It was revering and awe-inspiring to be inside the actual control room where we witnessed a reenactment of the countdown for the Apollo 8 mission...
...and just outside, witnessed the actual Apollo 8 rocket!
The first meal on space: Bacon Squares, Canned Peaches, Black Coffee, & Sugar Cookies! Yum! :)
Smooth & shiny, we didn't know exactly what we expected it to feel like, but we've touched an honest to goodness moon rock!
It's definitely made of cheese.
Jennifer finally checked something off her bucket list & tried some freeze dried, space mission worthy, ice cream!
Our consensus?
The vanilla part is kind of like styrofoam,
the strawberry is slightly sketchy,
and the chocolate is delicious! (:
As prepared as we would ever be, we stood inside the simulated training terminal to ready ourselves for our 5 minute journey to space.
Everyone stood tall as we waited at the loading station.
Heartbeats quickened as we fastened our seat belts, secured our sunglasses, and pulled back our hair (so we didn't hit the faces of the poor people behind us!).
The road was rocky, but Earth was beautiful from space (even if it was all the work of LED lighting anyways...)
The pictures from our mission are all classified however, so you will
just have to visit their new Atlantis exhibit for yourselves and get a
taste of what it's like to journey into space!
As an end to our wonderfully thrilling galaxy wide experience, we met Brazilian astronaut Marcos Pontes!
Just a short rocket blast away from the Kennedy Space Center was the
United States Astronaut Hall of Fame.
Maneuvering through the hallways and rooms of the Hall of Fame were cases of memorabilia and walls of recognition for the brave men and women who made their life work to "boldly go where no man has gone before..."

To close out our night we walked by the calm waters of the wetlands to watch the sunset and the wildlife (careful to lookout for alligators!).
