Saved by the Scissors

First off, we've got to thank our phenomenal northern Florida family.
It was spectacular to visit with you all over food & laughs (and to share in your love of Christmas!). You all are amazing.

"I wake up to live another day in this wonderful life my Savior has given to me."
"The Lord has blessed my life so much and has given me joy for the rest of my life to live."

There are so many reasons we love the beach.
The salty feel of the ocean water against your feet...
The rejuvenating sound of the crash of waves against the tiny pieces of sand...

And especially for us Indiana girls, whose winter shade of skin is 30% peaches and 70% cream (so much so that we practically disappear with the waves), we love, love, love getting kissed by the sun with a deep tan.
No place really offers the kind of TLC your mind and body gets from a day at the beach.

Sometimes though, the beach can be crowded.
And when there are more people than there are grains of sand on the beach, it's just not as fun, or beautiful.
But on a Monday in January, this sunshine filled beach was practically deserted. Which makes it the perfect place to soak our feet in the cool ocean water and bask in the South's glowing weather.

It was also the perfect setting to pop open our Cokes from Georgia and taste for ourselves the most refreshing Coke we've ever had.

But...there was one slight problem.
We quickly discovered that our Coke bottles, deceiving to the eye and to our dismay, were not in fact twist caps!
We had four bottles of beautifully cold, sweet, sharp, and bubbly Coke just waiting for us...
...obstructed by the plain fact that we just didn't have a bottle cap opener.

But if you're ever in this situation, do not distress! We have a solution.
One word: Scissors.

After some fast thinking and rummaging through the trunk, we found a pair of scissors to rescue us from our dilemma! We discovered that if you use the scissors to pry open the cap, you'll have your sweet drink in no time flat.

And lacking simple household appliances? Pssh. We can definitely elude those obstacles.

Just as we had all packed up and piled into the car, Melbourne, Florida's sunshine faded to give way to a cold kind of dreary rain.

"Because who else is going to make my cup of coffee?"
So we did what any four girls would do on a rainy day and ducked into a sweet little cafe for some hot coffee to warm us up.

The sun finally came out again as a close to a gloriously darling day.
And while we always have a good time wherever we go, you really just can't go wrong with a day out on the sand and sea.

To alternatives to kitchen appliances,
The best tasting Cokes we've ever had,
Elegant weather,
And angelic sights,
Love,
The Crew +Stephanie
