The Hike Up Kennesaw

Oh my goodness!  Have you heard about the hysterical board game 'Wise and Otherwise'?? Where it is up to you the player, to write you own alternate ending to old sayings...  And after giggling uncontrollably at everyone's answers --- pick the correct one out of the phrases of madness!

It is our Georgia family who we must thank for introducing us to this game, bacon doughnuts, new music, and Puerto Rican coffee.  You all will always be a special memory of our adventure! Just remember as the old saying goes:  In darkness, everything is black.

"I love mornings! I usually get up excited to be alive and start my day! I get up to care for my family and homeschool."
"Because I am trusting that God has a good and meaningful purpose in the road ahead."
"To listen to Bible study."
"To go to school."

Preparing ourselves for the next stretch of car time, we wanted to walk around a bit before embarking on our travel to Florida, the hike to the top of Kennesaw Mountain proved to be a elevating event!

And even though it was a steep walk up we made sure to take lots of breaks (for pictures of course...) and enjoy the beautiful scenery!

We couldn't have asked for a more wonderful day to go hiking...

...or a more stellar view of Atlanta's skyline.

"To praise God and be his friend forever."

During the Atlanta Campaign of the American Civil War, this mountain offered an advantage because of its height overlooking the city.  In June of 1864, the Battle of Kennesaw Mountain occurred at this very place.  Not so very long ago this place was occupied by people fighting for freedom, and where we met this man who today, fights for our freedom.

"To do what I do for our country."

Aided by the consistent consequences of gravity --- our hike down the mountain proved to be a much easier feat.

At the base of the mountain is a museum displaying a collection of memorabilia and artifacts from the history on Kennesaw Mountain.

On the road again, we just can't wait to get on the road again, oh wait?  Is that a peanut?!  Pull over!  Pull over!

May we present, Ashburn, Georgia home of the World's Largest Peanut!

To God's beautiful country and people who protect our freedom.
Love,
The Crew
