Waterways and Navy Days

It's always nice to have a shortish travel day, because that means after you arrive, you have time to explore!  Which is just what we did!  The C&O Canal, waterfalls, and paths made for excellent exploring our first evening in Maryland.

Isn't it beautiful!?

We are always grateful for the kindness of strangers who take our picture and allow all three of us to be in a photograph together.

"It is our God given duty to enjoy the day."

It was, shall we say, a spectacular place to experience the sunset.

The challenge of exploring any great city always begins with parking... Annapolis was no different.  It wasn't that parking was a necessarily difficult endeavor, it was more so that once we were parked, we then had to actually walk into the city...  This was where we met this amazing woman who not only helped us park, but also made sure we didn't start our day walking in the, ahem, WRONG direction :)
"God is good and I have to pay bills."

Such a neat entryway across the walk over the bridge into Annapolis.

We explored the grounds of the state house, which is situated in the middle of an intersection of roads, a sort of island/roadway predicament.

It was after selecting our chosen roadway that we happened upon a coffee shop filled with all sorts of treasures and wonderful people.
"Look at this beautiful world!!  There is so much to do and see - I think the anticipation of what the day's surprises, beauty, and fortunes get me up each day. Hello, world."

"Why not?"

Being so close to the water, we made a point to walk around the museums and grounds of the United States Naval Academy.

One rather unique exhibit were these ships crafted out of various BONES! Many were made as exact replicas of actual ships, which the craftsmen fashioned completely from memory.  We were all very impressed... turkey, anyone?

It's really thrilling to find out an entire expedition was named after you!... that is until you also find out, it wasn't quite so successful.

Looking pretty good for being a few hundred years old, if we do say so ourselves  ;)

Love,
The Crew
