NEW YORK!

NEW....Jersey?!?!?...."

Welcome to Parsippany, New Jersey, Yoda's (our car's nickname) delightful detour of choice on our way to the Big Apple of New York, New York.

Our customized car decided it wanted a little bit of TLC from Jersey mechanics, so we spent some time on the side of this just beautiful interstate. We thought all y'all would enjoy a picture of our gorgeous view as we waited for the tow truck to come and rescue us!

Always ready and excited for a new adventure, we were ecstatic for what interesting stories we would have from exploring Parsippany while we waited for Yoda to be cured.

And this picture of the inside of our hotel room just about sums our adventure up.

We'd never heard of Parsippany---and that should have been our first clue. 

But we decided to make the best of it and Googled "Things to do in Parsippany, New Jersey".

Trip Advisor pulls up "3 Things to Do in Parsippany, NJ".

Not "The TOP Three Things".

Not the "BEST Three Things".

But "THE Three Things to Do in Parsippany".

One of which did include lunch with a librarian.

...That should have been our second clue.....

But the Days Inn did have coffee.

And an ice machine.

So instead of lunch with the librarian, we made iced coffee, munched on Sun chips from the vending machine down the hall, and watched re-runs of I Dream of Jeanie.

The next morning we packed up our bags, grabbed some breakfast and an iced coffee to go.

The mechanics offered to pick us up the next day, but feeling like the true hobos we are, we trekked along the highway to the mechanics shop with our bags in tow.

We spent some good quality time at the mechanics as we chatted and Jeanette played her guitar.

Thanks to our awesome and hilarious mechanics, in less than 24 hours we were back on the road again!

Road Trip Lesson for the day: 

Whatever happens, bad or unfortunate, there is always an opportunity for a good story and a few laughs.
