3.1415

Omaha, Nebraska's festive parade was a wonderful day to celebrate Maewyn Succat day weekend! (More commonly known as St. Patrick's Day!)

Barely dressed in green, us girls had forgotten to ensure we packed appropriately colored parade clothes. We decided that the green beads would just have to do!

Thanks to a little reminder from one of our good friends back home, we realized that today was March 14th, 2015 (3.1415). Which made it not only Pi day, but super Pi day.

So we did what any hungry travelers on Pi day would do and went to the local market to get some silky chocolate pie. We don't exactly travel with an oven, so we found a frozen pie that would thaw at room temperature in about 30 minutes while we walked around the city! :)

"I get up in the morning because every day is a new day to experience new things."

After our fill of pie, Jennifer played the guide on a historic walking tour of significant buildings and sites throughout the city!

The sign outside the door said no photography in this passageway during certain hours due to the amount of pedestrian traffic.
And while we happened to have popped in during their 'no photography' hours...

...We had to just get a quick picture...
...which we looked at later and realized it was incredibly blurry.

So, the picture above comes with a few instructions: step back away from the computer about three steps, squint your eyes, and this will be the most fantastic photograph we've ever posted.

A popular spot for kids under the age of 12 (and a few travelers who are children at heart---not to show any pictures of familiar faces...), the slide at the Gene Leahy Mall was a great end to our historic walking tour!

Yet again, we had no idea how unprepared we were until we looked around and saw that every kid in line behind us had with them their own sheet of wax paper!

To a wonderful day exploring God's blessings,
And to both kinds of pie,
Love,
The Crew
