The Wondrous Beauty of Idaho

Home to majestic meadows of Ponderosa pines and sweeping views of Coeur D'Alene, Heyburn State Park is the oldest park in the Pacific Northwest, and our first look at the beauty of Idaho!

Damming in 1906 caused the lakes Round, Benewah, and Chatcolet to merge with lake Coeur D'Alene and created Idaho's own "river within a lake".

While you could hear the slight crunch of thin ice under your feet if you walked in the shade of the trees, the rest of the woods were aglow with sunshine and the beautiful look of a fall's afternoon!

Stop off at the top for a rest at the park's new picnic tables!

If you're lucky and look carefully among the tree tops, you can spy the cargo train passing along the lake front!

These open clearings reminded us so much of our own forests at home!

"Coffee is ready and the cat is telling me she wants to eat."

Fridays during Lent can be tough.
But they also mean enjoying special treats like salad bars & fish and chips...
...and Stations of the Cross with soup dinners and amazing people!

"I get up every morning to live another day of my life."

"Morning in North Idaho can't be beat. This is God's country."

To fish & chips and hiking!
Love,
The Crew
