Beautiful Bismarck

North Dakota's view from the road is simply stellar...but you'll learn very fast that the endless stretches of prairie mean that whenever you see a gas station, you should probably stop, because it may be hundreds of miles before the next one!

"I get up in the AM because it is less frustrating than laying in bed."

The modern structure of the Bismarck Capital Building intertwines elegant architecture with North Dakota's charming history. The light fixtures in this hall are modeled after their wheat crop!

"When I wake up, I praise God I survived to live for Him one more day."

"Look forward to each day being better than the day before."
"I look forward with joy at each day."
"Beats the alternative."

And after your tour, make sure you take a moment to glance out the window and enjoy this incredible view of the city!

Right across the way from the Capital building, the Heritage Center takes you all the way back to the age of the dinosaurs and then back to 2015 simply by walking into another room!

Like the Gorilla gorilla gorilla in St. Louis, we found that sometimes whoever names these species can sometimes lose their creative touch.

Scientific name for the American Bison: Bison bison.

While you're admiring their skeletal exhibits in the dinosaur room, be sure that you peek behind the black curtain and examine the glow in the dark rocks!

On December 18th, 1947, France received seven hundred boxcars of supplies from the U.S. to aid them in rebuilding their nation after World War II came to an end.
As a thank you, France sent a train car filled with goods that were made and donated by the French people to each of the 48 lower states, and a forty-ninth car for D.C. and Hawaii to share.

One story is told of a woman who rushed to the cars as they were being painted and decorated, sad that she was poor and had nothing to offer the U.S. in gratitude, so she pressed her fingerprints into the wet paint.
The train car outside the heritage center in Bismarck is one of the very few that remain.

And last but not least, we trekked out to see New Salem Sadie, the World's Largest Holstein Cow!

"To go to work and brighten everyone's day."

"I wake up for coffee and food."

"Feed my fish so they don't die."

To discovering the hidden beauty of North Dakota,
Love,
The Crew
