The Difference One Person Can Make

---Saving Children, Healing Families---
That's the motto of Boys Town, Nebraska, founded by Father Flanagan in 1917 as a place of refuge for homeless boys.

"To see another day and learn something I didn't the day before."

Their resources help to instill good faith and values, and to strengthen the mind, body, and spirit of children and families alike through their assistance and curriculum that followed Father Flanagan's words: "There are no bad boys. There is only bad environment, bad training, bad example, bad thinking."

"Because we are biological creatures programmed to get up every day."

Discouraged by his work with homeless men, Father Flanagan shifted his focus to ministering to children in need, regardless of race or religion. His vision was to give them a home to live in and a family to love them.

"I get up every morning to feed our children!"

And as we visited the Dowd Memorial Chapel and Father Flanagan's crypt, you were reminded of his words that ring true to all ministries, "...the work will continue, you see, whether I am there or not, because it is God's work, not mine."

"To serve my husband."

4,655,000 cancelled stamps were carefully pasted together by the Boys Town Stamp Collecting Club of 1953, until the ball was thirty two inches in diameter and weighed 600 pounds!

Be sure to not only enjoy the wonder of the Ball of Stamps itself, but also check out their penny stamp collection!

The Garden of the Bible is set in the three acres of peaceful reflection found among the life of the plants that call these grounds their home.
The bricks that lay out the path are formed in the shape of a Gothic window design and the garden contains a wide variety of plants and trees that would be found amid the chapters of the Bible!

"I'm always excited about what the day will bring."

"I get up in morning to proceed with my life to make everyday better than the last."

While we're not quite sure why it's called Runza's, this calzone-like fast food with cabbage, cheese, and burger, reminded us a bit like White Castle's Nebraskan cousin!

"Because I love food and the science of it!"
"I get up in the morning to experience the new day."

A great big wonderful thank you to our Nebraska family! We really enjoyed our stay with you and exploring your state!

To the beautiful way that God works through our lives,
Love,
The Crew
