N 39° 50' 00" W 98° 35' 00"

We thought our tumbleweed days were over.
Texas was long gone and we'd developed our method for a powerfully confident way of driving around them. But that was normal tumbleweeds.
This time it shook us so much we were in shock, temporarily couldn't move, and we didn't have time to get a good picture.  The only thing we know for sure was that it came straight at us, was the size of our car, as we aren't really sure if we drove through it or it rolled over us.
Needless to say, the whole episode lasted only a few fearsome seconds, we escaped it's treacherous clutches and just kept driving.

Rock City park was placed on the National Register of Natural Landmarks for it's collection of 200 Dakota concretions that rise up from a field and are up to 27 feet in diameter!

No where else in the world can this many concretions of such form be found than in this five acre park!

Have fun climbing over, under, and through the avenues between the rocks!

This is a playground where one can truly feel like they are on top of the world!

As early as 1918, the National Geodetic survey concluded that this exact location (just a short ways north of Lebanon, Kansas) is the geographical center of the 48 contiguous states!

Later, Hawaii and Alaska's addition to the U.S. changed this, but a map of the 48 states is balanced by this point in Kansas.

And at the geographical heart of the U.S., not only is there a flag, a sign, and a plaque, but also a chapel. At the heart of our country, for locals and travelers alike, God sends his love and protection for them and our great country.

For all practical purposes of our road trip, we've made it to the center of the United States of America.

To the words of Psalm 24 that the Bible in the chapel was open to:
"The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it,
the world, and all who live in it."

Love,
The Crew
